Free medical camps held

The Indian Army organised a mega medical camp at Oksungbung Community Hall, Moirang, benefiting over 356 people.
A statement of the Indian Army said that the camp featured nine doctors, including Army Medical and Dental Officers and civilian specialists in ENT, gynaecology, orthopaedics and general medicine, supported by healthcare personnel.
Free specialist consultations, medical check-ups and medicines across specialities were provided.
Services included blood grouping, blood sugar and blood pressure testing, while the State Government conducted HIV and syphilis screening.
As part of the initiative, five wheelchairs, 10 walking sticks, 11 blood pressure monitors, five glucometers with additional test strips and nebulisers were distributed.
Sanitary pads and counselling on reproductive health, women's hygiene and wellness were also provided.
A traditional dance performance by the UYDA Moirang Dance Troupe and a peace-themed regional song presented by Army personnel, added a spirit of unity and harmony to the event.
The initiative underscored the Indian Army's commitment to accessible healthcare, community well-being and strengthening its bond with the people of Manipur.
Meanwhile, to mark the occasion of the 135th Manipur Police Raising Day 2026, a free medical camp was organised at the relief camp opened at Bishnupur Old DC complex today.
Bishnupur Police Station and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal jointly organised the free medical camp under the Jan Bhagidari outreach awareness program of Kayakalp on health and sanitation.
A total of 114 internally displaced persons of the relief camp were examined for various medical concerns and were provided relevant free medicines during the camp.
