Legal awareness programme held at Khangabok

Thoubal, June 10 2026: A one-day legal awareness programme focusing on child protection laws was held today at Wisdom Foundation, Khangabok.

The programme was jointly organised by the People United Services Institute (PUNSI), Khangabok and District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal, under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) .

The event was attended by Principal of Wisdom Foundation Laishram Sobha Singh as the chief guest, and PUNSI member Laishram Memota as functional president.

As part of the programme, Khangembam Arunjoy Singh, Panel Lawyer of DLSA Thoubal, delivered detailed lectures on the topic of "Child Marriage" and "POCSO Act, 2012," while Kshetrimayum Sarankumari Devi, Advocate and Panel Lawyer of DLSA Thoubal, spoke on the "Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act, 2015," as resource persons.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Laishram Sobha appreciated the initiative and stated that such awareness programmes are highly beneficial for both students and teachers.

He noted that the programme would not only broaden their understanding of important legal issues but also help them become more aware of their rights, responsibilities and the laws designed to protect children.
