Sit-in continues over arrest of Asem Kanan

Thoubal, June 10 2025: Demanding unconditional and immediate release of Arambai Tenggol, Fighting Commander Asem Kanan who was arrested by the CBI on June 7, the Laimanai Youth Club Yairipok (LYCY) in collaboration with Laimanai Apunba Meira Paibi organised a sit-in protest at Yairipok Laimanai Multipurpose Community Hall today.

During the protest, slogans like "Release AT Army Chief immediately", "We condemn arrest of village volunteers", "Don't try to obliterate the Meitei community", "We condemn the partiality of Indian Government" "Safeguard the lives and property of people", etc were raised by the protesters.

A women protester who took part in the protest stated that Asem Kanan, who is the Army Chief of Arambai Tenggol hails from Yairipok Laimanai village and has come out to defend the motherland from Kuki narcoterrorist aggression.

Demanding immediate release of Asem Kanan without any condition, she also called for withdrawal of all the charges levied upon him by the authorities.
