The Jnims Students' Association staged a sit-in protest today at the JNIMS Hospital campus in Porompat, condemning the planting of a bomb by unidentified individuals at the hospital's Administration Block (A Block) on March 7.Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Ayangba Wahengbam, president of Jnims Students' Association, expressed strong disapproval of the act, saying it created fear and panic among staff, students, and patients.
He urged peaceful resolution of grievances, saying the JNIMS is a crucial medical and educational institution.
"Planting a bomb in a place where doctors, nurses, staff, and students work is highly unfortunate", he added.
He appealed that such frightening incidents should not recur in an area where students are studying, and that they should be allowed to pursue their education peacefully.
He emphasized the need for a peaceful environment to run the hospital smoothly and effectively for patient care.
Ayangba further demanded those responsible come forward and clarify their actions, questioning who would take responsibility if the bomb had exploded.
