Training / production wraps up

Imphal, March 09 2025:
The month-long training cum production on "Enunglon Pena Tantha Eshei" organised by Nongeen Arts & Culture Association, Manipur concluded today at the auditorium of Hueiyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association in Irilbung.
The training cum production was conducted under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The valedictory function was attended by Thokchom Loken Meitei, director, Nongeen Arts & Cultural Association; Budha Chingtham, Member.
Board of Directors, Eastern Zonal Cultural Center, Kolkata and Shamurailatpam Singhajit Sharma, State Kala Akademi Awardee as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Budha Chingtham said that Pena embodies the traditional healing practices, martial arts and evolutionary theories of the Meiteis.
Highlighting that almost all valuable indigenous performing art forms in Manipur are continuously vanishing, he elaborated on the need to teach traditional art forms including Pena to the present generation in order to promote & preserve the cultural heritage of Manipur.
