Imphal, May 08 2026: Police arrested two extortionists today in Kangpokpi district.

According to a police bulletin, they were apprehended while stopping trucks at Pangmoul village, under Gamnom Sapermeina Police Station in Kangpokpi, to extort money.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Thangjamang Haokip (43) of Pangmoul village and Henminlun alias Boilun Misao (18) of Kangchup Ponlien Village, Kangpokpi.

Security forces also arrested a resident of Sharonphai village in Churachandpur along with 118 soap cases containing 1.360 Kg of brown sugar from the proximity of Hilltown in Churachandpur today.

The arrested individual has been identified as Nehkholun Hangshing (45) .
