Sainik School Imphal celebrates 55th raising day

Sainik School Imphal celebrated its 55th raising day today with great enthusiasm, pride and patriotic fervour.
The occasion marked a significant milestone in the journey of the prestigious institution, which has been steadfastly committed to nurturing young minds through academic excellence, discipline, leadership and character building, said the school in a statement.
Retired IPS and Vice-Chancellor of the National Sports University (NSU), Daljit Singh Chawdhary attended the event.
The raising day celebration commenced with the inauguration of a book fair by five book vendors, providing students with an opportunity to explore a diverse collection of books and encouraging the habit of reading and lifelong learning.
Earlier, the school flag was unfurled by the Principal and wreaths were laid at the war memorial.
Speaking on the occasion, Col A Rajiv, Principal, Sainik School Imphal, highlighted the glorious journey and achievements of the school over the past 55 years and reiterated the institution's commitment to producing responsible, disciplined and patriotic citizens.
Winners of an Inter School Quiz Competition held on October 6 were feted at the event.
The School Magazine, Orchid 2025-26, was released during the function.
As a mark of respect and gratitude, the school memento was presented to Daljit Singh Chawdhary by the school authorities.
Daljit Singh Chawdhary congratulated Sainik School Imphal on completing 55 glorious years, and appreciated its contribution towards shaping young minds and developing qualities of discipline, leadership, perseverance, sportsmanship and patriotism.
He encouraged the students to dream big, remain committed to their goals and contribute meaningfully towards the progress and development of the Nation.
The Raising Day succeeded the OBA day which saw football and basketball matches between the alumni and present cadets.
