ROL Kakching welcomes decision to set up permanent NIT Manipur campus in Kakching

Kakching, August 07 2026: The Representatives of Lois (ROL), Kakching, has welcomed the State Government's decision to establish the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Manipur at Kakching, describing it as a historic milestone for the district and the State.

In a statement, ROL expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister of Manipur for the decision, stating that the establishment of an institution of national importance in Kakching would significantly strengthen higher education, promote scientific and technological advancement, and create greater educational opportunities for students from Manipur and the Northeast.

Assuring its full cooperation in the successful establishment of the institute, ROL said the project would bring lasting educational and socio-economic benefits to the region and future generations.

The organisation further expressed hope that the foundation stone for the project would be laid at the earliest so that construction work could commence without delay.

It stated that early execution of the project would reaffirm the Government's commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and accelerating the overall development of the region.
