Imphal, December 06 2025: The Film Forum Manipur (FFM) has clarified that it has no connection whatsoever with the recently held Sangai Film Festival as part of the Manipur Sangai Festival-2025 at MSFDS, Konung Lampak.

Speaking to the media today, FFM secretary Rakesh Naorem informed that forum and its affiliated guilds/association were not involved in the conduct of the Sangai Film Festival.

He also mentioned that the festival was organised by the MSFDS under the aegis of the Department of Art & Culture.

"The films showcased at the Sangai Film Festival were all from the archives of MSFDS", he added.

Moreover, the Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) has also clarified that the association did not participate in the recently concluded Sangai Festival, organised by the Government of Manipur.

In a release, AMMIK informed that a joint meeting of the association, held before the festival, had resolved to abstain from participating in the Sangai Festival, in solidarity with the IDPs who have been forced to take shelter at relief camps.

"The resolution was also shared with the music arrangers to ensure strict compliance was met", it added.
