Ema Loktak Expo 2025 launched in Sendra

The Ema Loktak Expo 2025 was formally launched today at Sendra Public Ground, Bishnupur district.
The five-day event is jointly organised by the BK Foundation and NEWEA (Manipur Chapter), under the initiative of the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
The expo aims to promote the beauty of Loktak Lake and showcase the creativity and products of local entrepreneurs from across the State.
The event was graced by MLA of Thanga AC, T Robindro Singh; DC Bishnupur Pooja Elangbam; Assistant Director, Ministry of MSME, Govt of India, Manoj Sharma; chairperson of BK Chanu Foundation and president NEWEA (Manipur Chapter) Kangabam Bijaya Chanu; BJP State secretary Dilip Moirangthem; Raising Awungshi of Indigenous Foundation Ukhrul; Lt Arunkumar Solonia of Maha Regiment Sendra Post; MD of Akoijam Marketing, Oinam Dayananda; and renowned singer of Manipur, Hamom Sadananda, among others as presidium members.
As part of the inaugural event, the dignitaries released various fish fingerlings into the Loktak Lake, symbolising a commitment to ecological balance and livelihood sustenance for local communities.
The Loktak Expo was later officially inaugurated with the cutting of ribbon by the dignitaries.
Around 40 stalls were set up by entrepreneurs from different parts of the State, displaying a wide range of handicraft, handloom, and indigenous products.
The event also featured a vibrant cultural programme showcasing traditional dances and songs, which captivated the gathering and highlighted the rich heritage of Manipur.
