Kangpokpi Police clears landslide on NH-2

Kangpokpi, July 05 2024:
The Kangpokpi police demonstrated commendable emergency response by clearing a major landslide on NH-2 within just three hours.
The landslide occurred between Daili village and Yaikongpao village near Kangpokpi District Headquarters around 11 pm on the evening of July 4 .
The landslide swept down a significant portion of land and trees onto the highway, completely cutting off the road and restricting movement of vehicles on both sides.
When the incident was reported by the local channel Hills Mojo to the Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station, Inspector Henminthang Kipgen, he promptly responded to the emergency call and dispatched a team of police to assess the situation under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi.
The police team swiftly acted by deploying a JCB to clear the landslide debris within just three hours, restoring normal traffic flow even before the region was fully aware of the major landslide.
The impressive response of Kangpokpi Police, even during odd hours, ensured smooth transportation and minimized disruptions caused by natural events such as landslides.
Many applauded the dedication and swift response of Kangpokpi Police, especially Inspector Henminthang Kipgen, Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station.
