Imphal, June 05 2026:
CRPF's 109 Battalion led multi-location plantation drives at Mongsangei, Langthabal, and Senapati under Manipur & Nagaland Sector.
Commandant and personnel planted native saplings with civil society, youth, and activists.
Separately, 86 Bn CRPF, under Commandant Saurabh Kumar Choudhary, planted saplings at Lamphelpat and distributed seedlings to the public.
The Indian Army's Red Shield Division held cleanliness and plantation drives in Bishnupur, Leimakhong Military Station, and Laikhong with the Civil Administration.
A total of 610 saplings were planted by 250 participants including ESMs, villagers, Army personnel, and families: 110 at Leimakhong and 500 at Laikhong.
Seema Praharis of Mizoram & Cachar Frontier BSF marked the day with plantation drives across their area of responsibility.
Programmes were held at Frontier Headquarters, Silchar, and at Sector Headquarters, Battalions, and Border Out Posts in Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, and Nagaland.
BSF personnel and their families planted indigenous saplings, supported by local personalities and school children at several sites.
