Village Council Noney decries frequent power cut

Aggrieved by the power cut-off that has continued for nearly a week, the Villages Council Longmai Area has appealed to the authorities concerned to take immediate action to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Noney District.
The Villages Council Longmai Area in a release has stated that subsequent to the 8 point agreement reached on August 8,2024 by the leaders of the CSOs.
District Administration and Power Department, Manipur to install mini-towers at places vulnerable to pole damages on unfavorable weather along 33 Kv line, upgradation of 3.15 MVA to 6.3 MVA, deployment of 5 numbers of linemen, installation of separate 11 Kv feeder for Noney HQ, stationing of additional staff and officials to ensure smooth functioning of the office, which were agreed on priorities by the competent officials have been remained unattended till date.
The Council continued that with the first rain of Monsoon season approaching, the District has been suffering power cut-off for nearly a week, causing inconveniences to the people.
"Despite numerous appeals made to the concerned authorities, regarding constant power interruption, the authorities have failed to attend the appeal of the people," said the Council.
Therefore in the interest of the people, the Council has urged the authorities concerned to do the needful to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the district.
