Junus Khan declared intending candidate for Moirang AC

Moirang, August 04 2026:
Junus Khan of Kwakta Municipal Council Ward No 8 has been declared an intending candidate for the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from the 27-Moirang Assembly Constituency, with supporters expressing their resolve to make the constituency more progressive and transformative.
The announcement was made at a programme organised by the Support Junus Khan Team at his residence in Kwakta Municipal Council Ward No 8 under the theme "Together for a Stronger Moirang" .
The programme was attended by social worker Md Abdul Matalip, Jamiatul Ulma Bishnupur district advisor MV Shafiuddin, Anjuman Islahi Mousera Kwakta Sardar MV Abdul Kalam, former Thamnapokpi Ward No 5 member L Thoibi, social worker M Memtombi, L Sanjoy, Sanayaima and Janmenjoy, besides Junus Khan.
Addressing the gathering, Junus Khan appealed to voters to reject the practice of accepting money in exchange for votes and instead elect representatives who understand the problems faced by the people and are committed to their welfare.
He stressed the need to work for the development of students and sportspersons and said Moirang AC was lagging behind in several sectors, including healthcare and education.
He appealed to the people to elect a representative who would treat all religions equally, shun communal feelings and work towards improving the economy and overall development of the constituency.
Junus khan said he decided to contest the election after being urged by people from across the constituency and expressed his willingness to serve the people with their support.
The programme was attended by supporters from various parts of Moirang AC.
Several individuals who were previously associated with different political parties and had held key roles in their respective organisations also extended their support to Junus Khan.
They were accorded a warm welcome and honoured by presenting Lenyan.
