CRPF strengthens community bond with Civic Action Programmes

The Central Reserve Police Force's Civic Action Programmes continue to foster stronger community-security force relations by bridging the gap between local populations and security personnel through welfare activities and development support.
Today, the 86 Battalion, CRPF, under the aegis of IG M&N Sector CRPF, inaugurated a 15-day Tailoring Training Programme at Tarung village in Imphal West district as part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-26 .
The inaugural event was graced by Saurabh Kumar Choudhary, Commandant; Dr Florence Dangmei, Chief Medical Officer; W Nandini Devi, Second-in-Command; K James Rongmei, Assistant Commandant, all from 86 Battalion CRPF.
Kamei Aguichung, Chairman, Tarung Village Authority; Keising Kamei, Village Administrative Chief; Poulem Panmei, Traditional Chief, representatives of women's society, CSOs, village elders, and residents of Tarung village also participated in the event.
As per a release issued by CRPF, the Tailoring Training Programme aims to enhance tailoring skills among women of Tarung village, enabling them to improve livelihood opportunities and contribute to economic empowerment.
During the event, Saurabh Kumar Choudhary interacted with, the village chairman, women, youth, and residents regarding community welfare and potential future collaboration.
He also expressed his gratitude to the villagers and highlighted that the CRPF has consistently stood as a pillar of stability and security, striving to strengthen trust, understanding, and mutual respect with every community in the region.
34 BATTALION
The 34 Battalion CRPF under the aegis of Manipur & Nagaland Sector organised a CAP at D/34 Battalion CRPF, Wangoi Police Station, Imphal West district.
The programme held under the guidance of Rajendra Narayan Das, IG, CRPF, was attended by T Clinton Singh, SDPO Mayang Imphal; Inspector Moirangthem Badal, OC, Wangoi PS; L Babita Devi, Councilor, Wangoi Ward No5; Nandita Devi, Councilor, Mayang Imphal Ward No 2; A Chouba Singh, Headmaster, Government High School Samurou; Ramniwas Chouhan, Assistant Commandant, 34 Bn CRPF, OC B/34 Bn; H Gitanjali Devi, Assistant Commandant-34 Bn CRPF, OC D/34 Bn; INSP/GD Rakesh Singh, and all other officers, SOs and jawans of 'Dett-34 .
Authorities of the relief camps, teachers, students, SHG members, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and locals of the area were also present at the event.
As part of the programme, Phrakyarwat Kharmujai, Commandant, 34 Bn CRPF distributed 1 computer set to Government High School Samurou; 2 wooden weaving machines & 8 spinning machines to SHG Yumjao Lairembi Bitra Urokhong; 2 wooden weaving machines & 9 spinning machines to SHG Mayang Imphal Bazar; 2 sewing machines to Samurou Government High School, Relief Camp; 2 sewing machines to Thambaleima High School Relief Camp; and 3 sewing machines to Pravabati College Mayang Imphal, Relief Camp.
189 BATTALION
As part of CAP 2025-26, the 189 Battalion CRPF has distributed 2 sewing machines and 1 loom to Salam Youth Learners Club; and 1 loom and 3 sewing machines to Tharoijam Youth Progressive Club.
The programme held at Tharoijam Community Hall, Imphal East district, was graced by S Rajen Singh, MLA, Lamsang AC; Huidrom Premjit Meetei, DIG Range Imphal, CRPF; and Prashant Kumar Sahu, Commandant, 189 Bn CRPF as presidium members.
Officers and jawans of 189 Bn CRPF were also present at the event.
