Imphal, June 03 2024: The 47th Foundation Day of Psychiatry Department, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal was celebrated at the Department's Dr Kamal Hall on Monday.

The celebration was attended by RIMS, Imphal, Director, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma; RIMS Hospital, Medical Superintendent, Prof N Sanjib Singh; Department of Psychiatry, Head, Dr S Gojendra Singh; RIMS, Imphal, Deputy Director (Admn), RK Mecolt Singh; Department of Psychiatry, former Head, Dr RK Lenin; Dr N Heramani Singh; Dr M Akshaykumar Singh and Dr S Gyaneshwar Sharma as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar said that doctors should treat their patients with compassion and listen attentively to their concerns.

He asserted that the Administration of RIMS will make efforts to upgrade the Psychiatry Department into a multi-faceted department and increase the number of faculty, MD and PG.

Later, alumni of the Psychiatry Department were honoured with simple gifts.
