Diabetes Awareness & Detection, Mega Medical Camps conducted

Imphal, November 30 2025:
In alignment with the One District One Activity initiative and the global observance of World Diabetes Day 2025, the Lions Clubs of Imphal Valley, Imphal Valley NextGen, Imphal Global, Imphal North, and Imphal Northern Hemisphere, under District 322D, have jointly organised a comprehensive "Diabetes Awareness & Detection" programme.
The programme, held at Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Achanbigei on Sunday, received an encouraging response, with more than 80 individuals from the surrounding communities benefiting from screening and diagnostic services.
A team of three qualified doctors, supported by dedicated staff nurses and ASHA workers of Ayushman Arogya Mandir, facilitated the programme.
The initiative emphasized early detection of diabetes, awareness on preventive and lifestyle measures, and the importance of routine medical check-ups to reduce diabetes-related risks.
In a release, the Lions Clubs extended their sincere gratitude to the medical professionals, ASHA workers, and volunteers for their invaluable contributions to the successful conduct of this community service programme.
Lions District 322D reaffirmed its continued commitment to promoting public health, awareness, and community wellbeing through sustained service initiatives.
Moreover, under the leadership of Prof Nongmaithem Romi Singh, GMT District Coordinator-I, a Super Mega Health Camp is scheduled to be held on December 7 at Ima Keithel, Imphal.
The camp will involve more than 10 doctors from various medical specialties, supported by over 30 medical staff, offering a wide range of free diagnostic, preventive, and consultative health services.
This large-scale health initiative aims to reach the maximum number of beneficiaries, particularly women vendors of Ima Keithel and the public.
Lions Club of Canchipur
The Lions Club of Canchipur under Lions International District 322D organised a Free Mega Medical Camp at Ebudhou Puthiba Lai Haraoba Shanglen in Langthabal Awang Leikai on Sunday.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with United Committee Langthabal, Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS), Dental Tree Braces & Dental Care, Dr Teeth Braces & Dental Care and Ibotombi Eye Care.
Expert medical professionals from SAHS, Dental Tree Braces & Dental Care, Dr Teeth Braces & Dental Care, Ibotombi Eye Care and AYUSH Hospital provided consultations across multiple specialties, including dermatology, paediatrics, gynecology, eye, dentistry, general surgery, general medicine and Orthopaedics, to more than 200 individuals during the camp.
Khongnangthaba University's Chairman Dr Jayenta also supported the camp by providing necessary medicines for the patients.
Lions Club of Canchipur president, Prof Ningombam Ibotombi; Lions Clubs International Foundation district coordinator, M Lokendro; Lions Clubs, Global Extension Team district co-ordinator, N Birendra and District 322D joint chairperson L Milan were also present at the camp.
SAYON
SAYON in collaboration with Lions Club of Imphal have successfully conducted a 2-Day Diabetes Detection & Control Camp at SAYON Complex, Chingamakha Maisnam Mandop on November 29-30, 2025.During the camp, diabetes screening for locals was done.
Individuals who were found to be diabetic or pre-diabetic were also examined by renowned doctors.
Those in need were also provided with free medications, ensuring access to essential treatments.
