Teachers distribute weaving looms to needy students' families

Imphal, June 30 2026:
Recent Higher Secondary School, Sagoltongba, on Tuesday organised a programme to hand oyer weaving looms to families of meritorious but economically disadvantaged students at the school premises.
Ningthoujam Sandhyarani, DI of Schools, ZEO Zone-I, attended as chief guest.
Commending the initiative of two teachers, she said such steps deserve appreciation.
"Government schools are fully implementing Ministry programmes.
Besides syllabus, teachers here are also imparting life skills and personality development to students.
This is why Government school students are equipped with strong life skills", she noted.
Sandhyarani added that teachers going beyond classroom teaching to render voluntary service is praiseworthy and should be emulated.
"When a family faces financial hardship, students suffer the most.
Support at such times becomes a big relief.
With this view, teachers Bimola and Rebecca extended help", she said.
Teacher Khumanthem Bimola Devi donated three weaving looms while teacher Leimapokpam Rebecca provided another to families of underprivileged students.
The programme was presided over by Principal Dr Hajarimayum Ripupyari.
Sukham Joy Singh, Chairperson, Administrative Committee, Yurembam GP, and Ahanthem Sorjubala Chanu, Vice-Principal of the school attended as guests of honour.
