For Better Kangleipak conducts cleanliness drive

Bishnupur, January 31 2026: Ahead of Fashion Tourism Day celebration on February 1, For Better Kangleipak conducted a cleanliness drive in the vicinity of Loktak Lake today.

Volunteers of For Better Kangleipak collected used plastic bottles, glasses and other waste materials from the area and safely disposed of them.

Speaking in this connection, Wangkheimayum Mangal, coconvenor, For Better Kangleipak said the cleanliness drive was carried out in connection with the observation of Fashion Tourism Day set to be held at Loktak Development Authority (LDA) Complex, Moirang tomorrow.

The beauty of Loktak Lake, one of Manipur's most well-known tourist spots, is being dimmed by the trash left behind by visitors, including tourists.

Stressing on the excessive waste lying around Loktak Lake, Wangkheimayum Mangal said the garbage bags they brought today were not enough to collect all the trash in the area.

It is high time for both visitors and shopkeepers/hotel authorities to focus on proper waste disposal at Loktak Lake, he added.
