Governor, CM extend New Year wishes

Governor of Manipur Gurbachan Jagat, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and others have greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of New Year's Day, 2012 .
In his message, Gurbachan Jagat said that New Year's Day is a special occasion for making new resolutions for the coming year.
"While stepping into the New Year, we should march forward keeping our goal fixed firmly on where we want our state to be in the future, by correcting the mistakes of the past.
We should also reaffirm our resolve to support the forces of solidarity and harmony, setting aside the differences of caste, creed, language and religion.
We should also resolve to fight and defeat the evil designs of divisive and destructive forces", the Governor said, while hoping and praying that the New Year will bring about peace, bonhomie and harmony in the lives of all the people of Manipur.
In his message, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh wished that the dawn of the New Year ushers in new hopes and expectations and said that it also gives us a chance to renew our resolve to strive for individual as well as collective well-beings.
Let us take the pledge to strive towards building a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur, he exhorted.
MP Dr Meinya, President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee Gaikhangam, Chairman of Media Department of MPCC Seram Mangi Singh and President of Manipur People's Party Dr Nimaichand Luwang have also conveyed their New Year's Day greetings to the people of Manipur.
On the other hand, GOC 57 Mountain Division and all ranks of Red Shield Division have wished a joyous New Year 2012 to all the people of Manipur and hoped that it would usher in an era of bonhomie, harmony and all round progress for all.
Extending warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people, IGAR (South) Major General UK Gurung and all ranks of Assam Rifles have also wished everyone a very Happy New Year.
