Demolition of Zion Baptist Church condemned

Noney, September 29 2026: The Gangluan Zion Baptist Church, RBCC of Noney district has strongly condemned the demolition of Zion Baptist Church, as well as the destruction of the 71 year Faithfulness Stone and Silver Jubilee Stone.

A statement of condemnation has been issued in this regard by the Pastor of Gangluan Zion Baptist Church, RBCC, Gangluan Part II, Khoupum Subdivision, Noney district.

The deliberate destruction and desecration of a house of worship and its sacred historical monuments is a grave violation of religious freedom, cultural integrity, and basic human dignity.

Such acts of violence and vandalism inflict deep emotional and spiritual wounds upon the congregation, the local community, and all believers who uphold the sanctity of religious heritage, said the statement.

Expressing strong discontentment over the act of demolition, the Gangluan Zion Baptist Church has demanded an immediate and thorough investigation by the local law-enforcement and civil authorities to identify the culprits responsible for the act of destruction.

It further demanded that the perpetrators be held fully accountable under the law of religious desecration, vandalism and trespass.

It also sought immediate steps to be taken and adequate resources to be allocated to restore the church premises and preserve the sacred space, alongside guaranteed protection for the congregation to exercise their right to worship safely.

The RBCC also extended solidarity with the members, leadership, and wider community of Gangluan Zion Baptist Church during this difficult time.
