Health awareness drive on Cervical and Breast Cancer held at Keirak

Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup in collaboration with the Sangai Trust Foundation jointly organised a health awareness programme on Sunday at the Panchayat Ghar of Keirak Gram Panchayat The primary focus of the program was to raise awareness among women about Cervical Cancer and Breast Cancer, with the aimed of educating women on early detection, prevention, and improving their quality of life.
The program was attended by several eminent personalities, including Professor Dr S Bhagyabati Devi, former HOD of Medicine, RIMS; Dr Naorem Bandana Devi, MD Gynecology; Elangbam Santi Leima, pradhan of Keirak GP; Salam Prasanta Singh, Managing Trustee, Sangai Trust Foundation; Thokchom Renu Devi, Headmistress of Singjamei Chingamakha High School; along with the secretary and members of Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup.
During the event Professor Dr S Bhagyabati, delivered a detailed lecture on the importance of timely cancer detection and preventive measures.
Dr Naorem Bandana Devi, further highlighted the seriousness of Cervical Cancer, its causes, and preventive strategies.
Nursing Officers Thingujam Reeta Devi and Amusana Brahmacharimayum also spoke on the importance of vaccination and early medical intervention.
As part of the program, essential medicines were distributed to 40 participating, women, sponsored by Salam, Prasanta Singh, Managing, Trustee of Sangai Trust, Foundation.
Additionally, five women received the Cervical Cancer vaccine during the event.
