Imphal, August 29 2021: A virtual workshop on 'Package practices of Umorok and Disease Management: Towards the Sustainable Cultivation' was conducted today.

In today's workshop, subject matter specialist on Plant epidemiology, Khongbantabam Nimaichand, Project Officer of Agriculture Department presented a lecture on smart strategies to deal the problems of Umorok production and its diseases and pest management comprehensively.

The workshop was initiated by Dr Senjam Jinus, managing director of Farming Alternatives and Resilience Management Schools with his expert advisory team Birjeet Yanglem, Tayenjam Dipu, Keniyo Thokchom from ATMA, Department of Agriculture and Homen Kangjam, farm manager of KVK Hengbung.

A total of 60 participants from all farming communities attended the workshop which included farmers from Chadong village, Purum Pantha village, Moirang, Kakching Khunou and various students from agricultural background.
