Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 commences

Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 commenced today in the State with the theme, "Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity" under the guidance of Chief Vigilance Commissioner, Manipur.
The Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 is being observed across the country from October 28 to November 3, 2024 .
Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated every year during the week in which the birthday of Sardar Vallabhai Patel (October 31) falls, said a release issued by SP, Vigilance & AC.
The awareness week was observed with the taking of the Integrity Pledge on October 28, 2024 at the office of the Superintendent of Police, Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Manipur followed by taking of E-pledge by the staff.
As part of the Vigilance Awareness week, poster campaigns were also conducted at prominent areas of Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur districts.
RIMS
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal today inaugurated the Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 with the theme "Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity" at Banting Hall, RIMS, Imphal.
According to a release issued by RIMS, this annual observance aims to reinforce the principles of transparency, honesty, and ethical conduct as foundational values contributing to a prosperous and corruption-free Nation.
Addressing faculty & staff at the opening ceremony, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, emphasized the importance of nurturing a culture of integrity in all professional and personal dealings.
"Integrity is the cornerstone of institutional success and national development.
We must work collectively to embed transparency, accountability, and ethical standards in our actions to realize the vision of a prosperous and corruption-free country", he added.
The Director also urged all to plan various activities and interactive sessions to educate and inspire participants to uphold ethical values emphasizing the role of every citizen in fostering a corruption-free society.
"Departments across RIMS will conduct sensitization programmes tailored to their unique functions within the healthcare system, highlighting the significance of vigilance and ethical practices in medical professions", he added.
The event was also attended by Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; RK Mecolt Singh, Deputy Director (Admn); Sairem Sarat Singh, CAO/FA; Prof Brogen Singh Akoijam, Dean (Academics); Sub-Dean, Principal of Dental College, HODs, Nursing officials, faculty members and staff of RIMS
