HIV/AIDS media fellowship conferred

Imphal, October 28 2021: Dr Kh Athouba of Hueiyen Lanpao and Ph Keny Devi of Imphal Free Press have been awarded the 1st HIV/AIDS Media Fellowship 2021-22 by Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) .

In a simple contract signing function held today at Old Secretariat, Haobam Rosita, Project Director MACS handed over the contracts to the selected fellows, said a press release issued by MACS.

During the 5 months fellowship tenure, the fellows will publish 8 news stories on HIV/AIDS and MACS will provide an amount of Rs 50,000/- each to the fellows.

It may be noted that Dr Kh Athouba is a resident editor with Hueiyen Lanpao and Phurailatpam Keny Devi is working as a staff reporter with the Imphal Free Press.

MACS started the media fellowship programme for the first time with an objective to provide a learning opportunity for journalists to experience India's National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) through various HIV and AIDS prevention and control programmes taken up in the state by MACS.
