Udyam registration drive held in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, April 28 2026:
A one-day Udyam registration drive-cum-awareness programme for villages under Kamjong block was successfully conducted today at MYB Conference Hall, Hamleikhong, Ukhrul district.
The programme aimed to promote entrepreneurship and create awareness about the benefits of Udyam registration.
Worchipem AC, Deputy Director, MYB Ukhrul and Kamjong, attended the programme as chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest highlighted the important role of youth under schemes like the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) and Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in driving socio-economic development in the district.
General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC), Ukhrul and Kamjong, Themreiyo T Awungshi, who attended as the resource person, elaborated on the various schemes under RAMP and MSME.
He stated that both the Central and State Governments are extending maximum benefits to MSMEs by providing assistance through structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each scheme.
He further noted that such initiatives would ensure speedy development in the district while encouraging industrial entrepreneurs and MSMEs.
He also explained the advantages of obtaining a Udyam certificate, highlighting its importance for availing government benefits in collaboration with the DIC office.
Rita A Shimrah, Mentor for Women Entrepreneurs, also addressed the participants and urged them to actively cooperate and coordinate with the DIC for effective implementation of activities under RAMP and MSME schemes to fully avail the benefits.
The programme was organised under the Raising and Accelerating of MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, with the objective of encouraging sustainable business development and empowering local entrepreneurs across the district.
