FOB Senapati organises ICOP on SVEEP

Field Outreach Bureau, Senapati under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on Sunday organised a one day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) at Koso Baptist Church ground, Koso village, Kamjong district.
Speaking on the occasion, Field Publicity Officer (FPO) Dr Urmila Waribam stated that the department regularly organises election awareness programmes to inform the public on various beneficiary schemes sponsored by the Government.
Philachui Sharon, Nodal Officer of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, enlightened the gathering on "One man, one vote" .
She appealed to the public to participate in elections to elect their leader to represent them in the Government.
Calling for a free and fair election, Philachui Sharon urged the public to not exchange their votes for cash or kind.
She also mentioned that Koso village was chosen for the outreach programme as Koso polling station recorded the lowest voter turnout in Kamjong district in the previous election.
She further informed that senior citizens of the age 80 years & above and physically disabled persons can cast their votes from home.
Later, an on the spot quiz competition was also conducted.
