Awareness cum Udyam registration drives held at Ukhrul, Chandel and Tengnoupal

Ukhrul/Chandel/Tengnoupal, March 26 2026: A series of Udyam registration drives and awareness programmes were successfully conducted across Ukhrul, Chandel and Tengnoupal districts to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

In Ukhrul, a one-day registration drive-cum-awareness programme was held at MYB Hall, Hamleikhong village under Sahamphung block.

The programme was organised by the District Industries Centre, Ukhrul & Kamjong, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme to encourage local entrepreneurs towards sustainable business development.

Secretary of Mapum village, P Mayamgam, attended the programme as chief guest.

General Manager of DIC, Ukhrul and Kamjong, T Awungshi, highlighted the importance of Udyam registration on the government portal, stating that it enables entrepreneurs to access various government schemes, financial assistance and credit facilities for business expansion and startups.

During the drive, on-the-spot registration was conducted by CSC representatives Elvy Yangya and Phungchon Zimik, facilitating registration for more than 70 interested individuals.

The chief guest also distributed 10 certificates to participants.

Meanwhile, a five-day awareness cum Udyam registration drive was organised by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Chandel and Tengnoupal from March 20 to 26 across multiple locations in the two districts.

The initiative was held under the Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt of India.

On the concluding day at Khushaibung Community Hall under Machi Block, General Manager, DIC Chandel and Tengnoupal, Th Bijoy Singh, spoke on the benefits of MSME schemes, with special emphasis on interest subvention schemes for women-owned enterprises and logistics strengthening support under RAMP.

He also elaborated on the credit facilities available through financial institutions and urged unregistered entrepreneurs to enrol on the Udyam portal.

The drive covered several locations including Koijam, Thungcheng village, Unopat village, Ziontlang village and Khulsaibung village, drawing participation from village authorities, SHG representatives and local residents.
