Imphal, November 25 2024: The Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) has strongly condemned the alleged looting of food and clothing items kept for relief camp inmates by a mob which vandalized the residence of Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan on November 16 .

A press release issued by Salam Inaoyaima, publicity secretary, SSUM has stated that the Union supports and understands public outrage but added that everyone should collectively denounce exploitation of people's movement to engage in alleged acts of theft.

SSUM also refuted the claims made on social media accusing the Thangmeiband AC MLA of hoarding large quantities of food items.

It added that the person behind the viral media content should issue a clarification.
