National seminar on "Packaging and export promotion for MSMEs" held

Imphal, September 25 2025: A 1-day national seminar on"Pakaging and export promotion for MSMEs" was held today at Hotel Imphal, North AOC .

The seminar was organised by the MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Imphal in collaboration with North East Women Entrepreneurs Association (NEWEA), Manipur Chapter.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Manoj Shanna, Assistant Director, Ministry of MSME, Government of India; Kangjam Bijaya Chanu, President, NEWEA Manipur Chapter; Dr Ng Joykumar Singh, Professor, College of Food Technology, Central Agricultural University, Imphal; Oinam Dayananda, Managing Director, Akoijam Marketing Private Limited; Sagolsem Itomba, Centre in-charge, CIPET, Imphal; and Girish Nair, Director, Corporate Affairs & Public Policy, Walmart Group.

During the seminar, Dr L Jibon Kumar Sharma, Professor, MIMS & Coordinator, International Relations, Manipur University gave a talk on the topic, "Documentation for Exports for MSEs".

Oinam Dayanada delivered a lecture on the topic "e-Commerce & its importance to the MSME sector" while Dr Ng Joykumar elaborated on "Importance of robust packaging for MSME clusters in Manipur".

Girish Nair also gave a presentation on "e-Commerce platforms" .

As part of the seminar, products developed by 10 local entrepreneurs were also displayed.
