Tbl/Tml/Ccpur/Bpr, January 25 2022: The 12th National Voters' Day was observed at district headquarters of Thoubal, Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Tamenglong today.

THOUBAL
The program was organised by District Election Office,Thoubal.

under the theme is "Making Elections Inclusive , Accessible & Participation" .

Speaking at the function Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal A Subhash (IAS) said National Voters Day is celebrated to commemorate the establishment of Election Commission of India.

He said special emphasis were given to include PWD and transgenders in the electoral roll.

He appealed the political parties, intending candidates and voters to make the coming State Assembly Election free and fair in the District.

As part of the function EPICs were distributed to the newly enrolled voters.

Prize were also distributed to the winners of District level Ballot battle quiz competition.

New Era Hr.Sec School,Thoubal; Khangabok Hr.sec School and Eastern Star Hr.sec school got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize of the competition.

The programme was attended by ADM Thoubal Lokeshwor Brahmacharimayum, AC to DC A.Ruhinikumar,DLOs , newly enrolled voters and school students coming from different part of the District.

BISHNUPUR
The day observed in Bishnupur was jointly organised by the District Election Office, Bishnupur and Nehru Yuva Kendra, Bishnupur in association with Lingthoinganbi Leishaphan Girls Club, Ithing at Ithing Community Hall, Moirang in Bishnupur.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, L Bikram, District Election Officer, Bishnupur apprised young voters that youths are capable of making informed decisions to elect the best decision makers for the state and country.

Acknowledging that youth also has the power to change the system, he encouraged young voters who comprised of 7.44 % of the total electors of the district to exercise their franchise rights.

Considering the recent spike on COVID cases, the DEO appealed to the gathering to get vaccinated at the earliest and convince family members for vaccination.

Shri L.Bikram later led the National Voters' Pledge taking during the observance.

A technical session on "Youth drugs and Human Trafficking: Critical challenges" was also delivered by L Pishak Singh, Director, Childline Bishnupur during the observance.

District youth convention and cultural programs also marked the occasion.

CHURACHANDPUR
The day was observed at the office complex of DC Churachandpur organised jointly by DEO Churachandpur and office of the Deputy Commissioner.

Addressing the gathering, Addl.

District Election Officer, Yumnam Nelson said that we are empowered with duty and responsibility in electing the right leader and the privileged given to us as voters.

He urged the young voters to inculcate the message of ethical and informed voting for the betterment of the society.

Dingluaia Varte, Asst.

Election Supervisor administered the NVD pledge.

DLOs, Officials from district election office, students and newly enrolled voters attended the function.

TAMENGLONG
The district administration of Tamenglong along with CSO, youth organization, media houses and academic institutions today celebrate 12th National Voters' Day (NVD) under the theme "Making election inclusive, accessible and participative" at DC Bunglow at Tamenglong district headquarter.

Hungyo Worshang, DC, Tamenglong; Ningreingam Leisan, ADM, Tamenglong and Rohit Anand, IAS, SDO, Tamenglong attended the celebration program as chief guest and guest of honour.
