Workshop / production on "Folk Music" begins

Imphal, February 24 2025: A 21-day workshop cum production on "Folk Music" organised by Leimarolsinggi Seisakhol began today at its premises in Palace Compound, Imphal.

The workshop cum production was conducted under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Speaking on the occasion, Leimarolsinggi Seishakhol secretary Ningthoujam Premila said that the workshop was conducted with the aim to safeguard, preserve and promote the rich folk culture and music of the State.

She also stressed on the need to teach folk music to the younger generation in order to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.

Leimarolsinggi Seishakhol president S Rina, vice president L Bidyaranai and about 20 students also attended the workshop.
