Free medical health camp organised at Waroiching

A one-day free medical health camp was organised today at Waroiching under Oinam Assembly Constituency for resettled internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Waroiching, who were displaced to various relief camps following the outbreak of ethnic violence in the State on May 3, 2023, and later resettled through government efforts.
The medical camp was organised by the New Life Foundation in collaboration with Emmanuel Hospital Association, New Delhi, Goonj Delhi and Access to Justice Project.
As part of the programme, relief materials were also distributed to the IDPs.
Participants further took a collective pledge under the 100 Days Campaign on Stop Child Marriage, led by Child Rights chairperson Keisham Pradeepkumar.
Speaking on the occasion, New Life Foundation general secretary Dr Lamabam Pishak said that around 78 individuals, including women, children and elderly benefitted from the camp.
Free medicines were also provided to the beneficiaries.
He added that blankets, mattresses, woolen clothes, cane stools (mora), sanitary pads, carry bags, towels, hats and yams were also distributed to 85 individuals as part of the relief effort.
Dr Pishak expressed gratitude to Emmanuel Hospital Association staff, Goonj and New Life Foundation team members, doctors, nurses, CMO Dr Ramchandra and local volunteers of Waroiching for their cooperation and support in making the medical camp a success.
