Sensitization programme on Sangai Day held

Imphal, February 23 2025: A one-day student sensitization program on Sangai Day was held today at the auditorium of Sambanlei Sekpil School, Kumbi organised by Sangai First Foundation in collaboration with Sambanlei Sekpil School, Kumbi.

The program was graced by Moirangthem Mangi, National Teacher's Awardee, chairman Kumbi College and Dr Kh Samungou.

Managing Trustee of Sangai First Foundation, and K Jugeshor, Trustee of Sangai First Foundation, as presidium members.

At the event, Dr Kh Samungou Singh emphasized the historical significance of observing December 10 as Sangai Day, highlighting the origin of Keibul Lamjao Floating National Park and providing ecological, environmental, and biological information about the Sangai Deer.

K Jugeshor shared the purpose of the event, highlighting its goal to raise awareness about conservation, reverse biodiversity loss, and protect nature for future generations.

He encouraged students to become ambassadors for Sangai Deer conservation and guardians of the environment and ecology.

Later as part of the event, a spot quiz competition was also conducted.
