Good Governance week observed in Kakching with citizen-centric service camps

Kakching, December 22 2025:
The District Administration Kakching observed Good Governance Week by organising special public service delivery camps aimed at strengthening citizencentric governance and improving access to government services.
The camps were held from December 19 to 25 as part of the nationwide observance.
The programme was organised by the Sub-Divisional Officer/Block Development Officer at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, Mini Secretariat located in Kakching Headquarters.
At the camps, stalls from different Government departments of the district, including SDO/BDO Kakching, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, District Handlooms & Textiles, PWD Kakching Division among others were set up for grievance redressal and public service delivery.
As part of the initiative, a special cataract detection and surgery drive for senior citizens under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVAY) scheme was organised by the District Social Welfare Office in collaboration with Medilane Foundation, Imphal Eye Clinic and Kakching Eye Hospital at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex.
A total of 47 participants attended the Cataract detection camp.
Patients requiring surgical intervention will undergo surgery at Kakching Eye Hospital, while those requiring only spectacles will be provided with glasses free of cost and all related expenses will be borne by the department.
Similar service camps are schedule to be held on December 24 at KBM, Kakching Khunou, and at the Sugnu Municipality Office in Sugnu Bazar.
Meanwhile, District Level Workshops were also organised as part of the Good Governance Week by departments including Executive Engineer, PWD Kakching Division; District Fishery Office; and CDPO, ICDS Project, among others.
In addition, a two-day workshop on the Entrepreneurship Knowledge Programme under Component 5.2 - Support to Aspiring Entrepreneurs: Entrepreneurship Knowledge Programme of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme was inaugurated today at the Kakching Municipal Council in Kakching.
The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner P Shantikumar Singh as chief guest.
Kakching Municipal Council Chairman Naorem Shanjitkumar Singh and General Manager of District Industry Centre Thoubal/Kakching Soibam Nabakunja Singh attended the programme as guests of honour.
