Seva Sankalp Abhiyan: community outreach, creativity promotion, welfare activities continue

Bishnupur/Chandel/CCpur, September 22 2026: The month-long observance of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, which commenced on September 17, continues across the districts in Manipur with various line departments undertaking activities under the different programme themes of the Abhiyan.

Bishnupur

As part of "India of Dreams - Art Seva", a painting competition was organised today across 64 schools of the district.

A total of 3,819 students participated in the competition at their respective schools.

The competition, organised under the guidance of the Zonal Education Office, Zone IV, Bishnupur, was conducted on the theme "My Vision of Viksit Manipur".

As part of the next phase of the programme, schoollevel elocution competitions on the same theme will be organised on September 26.Meanwhile, a cleanliness drive was also organised today at Loukoipat, Bishnupur, by the PHED, Bishnupur, as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

The drive aimed to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility and community participation in maintaining public spaces.

Chandel

Aangan Ka Utsav continues in Chandel district with the objective of strengthening community engagement and creating awareness on nutrition, health and child development through Anganwadi Centres.

As part of the programme, visits were undertaken to various Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) under Chakpikarong sub-division.

SDO Chakpikarong Md Tajuddin along with District Program Officer Md Abul Hassan Shah, senior district officials and field functionaries, including CDPOs and Supervisors visited the Anganwadi Centres.

During the visits, the officials interacted with Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), ASHAs and local villagers and reviewed the activities being carried out at different centres.

The visiting officials emphasised the importance of proper nutrition, child care, maternal health and early childhood development.

Awareness was also imparted to the community on the significance of nutritious food and healthy practices for the overall growth and well-being of children.

Under the action plan, different Anganwadi Centres under Chakpikarong subdivision including Y Khutha.

Anal Khunou, Novokom A, Akaphi, Hringphe, Khummungphe were visited and interacted by the officials.

Churachandpur

Various student competitions, including painting, essay writing and elocution, were conducted at four .

schools in Churachandpur district today as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, providing students a platform to express their ideas, creativity and aspirations for a developed Manipur.

At Vimala Raina High School and Sagang Higher Secondary School, essay writing and painting competitions were conducted on the theme "My Vision of Viksit Manipur", while Songpi Upper Primary School (UPS) and Vumhao High School hosted painting and elocution competitions.

Organised under the "India of Dreams (Art Seva)" programme, the activities encourage students to express their ideas and aspirations for the development of Manipur and its contribution to Viksit Bharat.

The action plan also includes "Rangoli Rashtra," which promotes the use of traditional Manipuri motifs, indigenous patterns, textile geometry and the Tricolour in rangoli-making, with a focus on Viksit Bharat and Viksit Manipur.

Esther Chingneikim, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Churachandpur, has scheduled painting, essay writing, and elocution competitions across 25 selected schools under its jurisdiction.

The activities are being conducted according to a day-wise calendar from September 18 to 29.At the district level, the programme is being coordinated by Emanuel Lalsangrem, designated as District Coordinator, to oversee smooth implementation across Churachandpur.

Pherzawl

The month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan continued in Pherzawl district with a series of activities focusing on nurturing creativity among students and promoting environmental awareness.

As part of the "India of Dreams - Art Seva" component of the campaign, essay and painting competitions were organised at several schools, including Parbung Government High School, Pherzawl Government High School, Sibapurikhal Government High School, Joutung Upper Primary School, DR Thuoma Government High School, Patpuihmun and C Zalen Primary School.

The competitions were organised by the Zonal Education Officer, Pherzawl, in collaboration with the District Administration.

Students and teachers took active part in the events, which sought to encourage creativity among young learners while connecting them with the broader objectives of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

In another initiative, the Pherzawl Forest Division, in collaboration with the District Administration and Parbung Mission Society School, conducted a sapling distribution programme and ceremonial plantation drive at PMS School, Parbung.

Students and teachers participated in the plantation drive, planting saplings in and around the school campus.

The initiative was aimed at strengthening environmental awareness among students and encouraging greater community participation in the protection and conservation of the environment.

The activities formed part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan being carried out across Pherzawl district.

Tengnoupal

The Zonal Education Office, Tengnoupal under the supervision of the District Administration, Tengnoupal today organized an essay writing competition and painting competition at two schools of the district under the theme "My Vision of Viksit Manipur" .

At Moreh Higher Secondary School, essay writing competition was held in which 257 students participated while drawing/painting competition was conducted at S Maipi Primary school.
