The Representatives of Lois (RoL), Kakching today felicitated the first ever IAS among the people of Scheduled Caste in Manipur, Robert Kshetrimayum at a solemn function held at Central Public Hall, Kakching.
President of RoL, Y Nilachandra presided over the function and Councilor of Kakching Municipal Council, Kshetri Naran Singh and Kshetri Gopal were the guests of honour.
Robert Kshetrimayum was in the 171st rank in the Combined Civil Services Examinations, 2009 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Out of 131 selected candidates, Robert Kshetrimayum was the 93rd successful candidate on reserved seat of Scheduled Caste.

Narrating the background story behind his success, Robert Kshetrimayum told the gathering that if a person works hard by keeping a target, he/she would naturally succeed.
If one keeps the target low, he/she would get it low, but if the target is kept high, achievement would also be high, he said.
The successful youth further opined that in order to achieve success, it needs a peaceful atmosphere in the family and a good educational atmosphere and a good environment.
If a student intends to achieve his/her ambition, he/she needs to fully understand what his/her ambition is all about.
"If one wants to become a doctor, the student must know the duties of a doctor very well," he said.
"If, luckily, I happen to get to work in the state, I would perform my duties sincerely and thoroughly to serve the people of the state," Robert Kshetrimayum vowed.
As part of the feilicitation function, Salam Dipak of Kakching Khunou Thongam Mondum, who stood in the second position in the Class XII examination 2010, Commerce stream and Amom Suman of Wangoo who won the fifth position in the Science stream of the same examination held under the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, and N Nelson and Thokchom Leishemba of PR English School who stood in the 7th and 8th positions respectively in the HSLC Examination, 2010 conducted of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur were also given a warm reception and given presentations to encourage them.
