Stress management intervention programme and TB awareness held at Kamjong

The District Health Society, Kamjong District today organized an intervention programme on stress management under the National Mental Health Programme and a TB awareness programme at Awuntang, Kamjong District.
The programme was graced by Hanyo Luke Rungsung, SDC Kamjong District, in the presence of Dr PS Leishiwon, CMO Kamjong District.
Addressing the gathering, Hanyo Luke Rungsung highlighted the importance of understanding mental stress, its causes and ways to address them effectively.
He emphasized practical strategies such as mindfulness and relaxation, physical wellbeing, time management, cognitive techniques and social support to build emotional resilience.
Drawing a connection between stress and physical health, he underlined the need to address mental wellbeing as part of overall health care, especially in the context of TB.
Highlighting the significance of early detection and timely treatment, Hanyo urged the community to combat stigma and misinformation associated with TB through greater awareness and social support.
Dr PS Leishiwon, CMO Kamjong District, also spoke on the social stigma faced by TB patients and highlighted free government services that enable early medical intervention.
She reiterated that effective stress management and timely health-seeking behaviour are both critical to building a healthier community.
Today's programme saw active participation from health officials, community leaders, students and local residents, reflecting broad community engagement and support for the twin themes of mental health and TB awareness.
