District Administration Jiribam promotes road safety

Jiribam, January 21 2026: As part of the 37th National Road Safety Month, the District Administration Jiribam, in collaboration with the Jiribam District Police and District Transport Office, organised a road safety awareness programme at Irawat Square, Babupara, Jiribam, on Wednesday.

The programme was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar.

During the program, helmets, road safety rule pamphlets, and stickers were distributed to two-wheeler riders.

Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar highlighted the importance of following traffic rules and guidelines issued by the National, State, and District authorities.

He emphasized that the primary objective of organising Road Safety Month is to create awareness among the general public, especially vehicle drivers, to follow traffic rules and guidelines.

DC Krishna Kumar expressed his happiness over the opening and functioning of the District Transport Office in the district.

He announced that the newly opened Transport office would be officially inaugurated by the Governor of Manipur on January 22, 2026.Krishna Kumar lauded the role of the Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Transport Officer, and media persons in promoting awareness on road safety and traffic rules.

He also announced that the ongoing expansion and construction of NH 37 is nearing completion, and various roads and intervillage roads are being constructed in the district for the convenience of the people.

The DC appealed to the people of the district to follow the instructions given by the concerned authorities for the safety of all.

He cautioned that various kinds of fines would be imposed on individuals who violate road safety rules.

The programme was attended by senior officials, including Superintendent of Police Prakhar Pandey, ADC, Jiribam Th Manoranjan Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Th Kamaljit Singh.
