Imphal, April 20 2026:
In a vibrant push for public health, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal turned the spotlight on dental care today with a mass awareness cycle rally held under the theme, "A Healthy Mouth is a Happy Life" .
Organised as part of World Oral Health Month, the rally was a joint initiative by the Dental College's departments of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry.
As per a release issued by RIMS, the event was ceremonially flagged off by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, alongside Medical Superintendent Prof Nepram Sanjib Singh and Prof B Praveen Reddy, Principal of the Dental College.
Participants cycled through various parts of the RIMS campus, creating a visible presence across the premises before concluding at the Dental College.
The air was filled with slogans as participants carried placards emphasizing the critical importance of oral hygiene and preventive care.
The event saw enthusiastic turnout from faculty members, staff, and dental students, all united in the goal of community education.
The cycle rally follows a successful Walkathon held just two days ago on April 18, which saw approximately 150 individuals march from the General OPD to the Dental College.
The primary objective of these ongoing celebrations is to bridge the gap in public understanding regarding the vital link between oral health and overall physical and mental wellbeing.
