Imphal, October 18 2026:
The Federation of Haomee (FoH) has appealed to the people of Manipur to stage a protest and raise slogans from 7.30 pm to 8 pm on October 23 against the alleged divisive policy of the Government of India (GoI) .
In a statement issued by its president, Sapamcha Jadumani, the Federation appealed to the people to raise slogans such as "Stop the Divide and Rule Policy of the GoI", "Abrogate the Suspension of Operations (SoO) pact with Kuki armed groups", "No NRC Update, No Election", "Resettle the Internally Displaced People", "Retrieve the Bodies of People Killed by Kukis", "Don't Allow Armed Groups to Operate Freely in the Hill Districts", "No Separate Administration", "Deport the Foreigners" and "Penalise All the Killers" .
The FoH said that many children, men and women have been killed since May 3, 2023, while several others remain missing.
It added that tens of thousands of people are still languishing in relief camps, while thousands of houses have been torched amid the crisis, leaving their occupants homeless.
Claiming that armed Kuki foreigners, allegedly supported by the "colonial master", have been attacking indigenous people in the hill and valley districts with impunity, the FoH alleged that the issue of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) has seemingly been sidelined in the run-up to the Assembly elections.
To bring all these issues to the attention of the world, the Federation appealed to the people to support the protest scheduled for October 23 .
It also appealed to the people to upload videos of the protest on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp and share the clips with the Federation through its WhatsApp numbers (8794889180/6300690252) .
It further appealed to the people to refrain from holding any festivities between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm on October 23 .
