KKSDDA demands authorised contractor for bridge work

Imphal, April 17 2025: The Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Development Association (KKSDDA) has raised serious concern over the authorities failure to deploy authorised contractors for Steel Truss Bridge construction work undertaken at Maklang river.

The KKSDDA in a release stated that the Steel Bridge built over Maklang River plays a vital role for the residents of the border area and is key in improving connectivity and minising the gap between the South and East of Kamjong district.

Denouncing the deployment of unauthorised contractor, the KKSDDA stated that the deployment of subcontractors who lacks experience with no work knowledge and specialization at the site for construction of the said bridge poses a direct threat to the development of Kasom Khullen Sub-division in particular Kamjong district in general.

The KKSDDA claims that the construction of the said bridge over Maklang river should be constructed only by the Agency awarded for the construction and not by any unauthorised contractors.
