16 tonnes of floating fish feed distributed

Imphal, March 17 2026:
In collaboration with ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneshwar, the Department of Fisheries distributed 16 tonnes of floating fish feeds to 200 flood affected fish farmers of Manipur today.
The distribution took place at the Office Complex of the Directorate of Fisheries, Manipur at Lamphelpat under the ICAR-CIFA NEH Outreach Programme.
The Director of Fisheries, Manipur T Phulen Meitei along with the officials of the department distributed floating fish feed bags at the rate of 80 kgs to each beneficiary.
The beneficiaries are mostly flood affected fish farmers from the five valley districts of Manipur-Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching.
During the distribution programme, Director T Phulen Meitei expressed profound gratitude to Dr PK Sahoo, Director, ICAR CIFA, Bhubaneshwar, Dr Subhendu Adhikari, Principal Scientist and NEH Coordinator, ICAR-CIFA, Kolkata and Jackson Debbarma, Scientist & Co-co-ordinator ICAR-CIFA NEH Outreach Programme & Coordinator, Manipur State for providing assistance to the flood affected fish farmers to revive their economic activities and enhance of fish production.
