MMAB hosts 2nd edition of "Fields of Hope"

The Manipuri Meitei Association, Bangalore (MMAB) successfully conducted the 2nd edition of "Fields of Hope", a Northeast sporting initiative aimed at promoting peace, unity and community harmony through sports.
Held on the occasion of the 135th Patriot Day, the event began with a floral tribute to martyrs.
It featured Football and Badminton tournaments that drew participants and supporters from Manipur, other Northeastern States and communities across Bengaluru.
The programme was attended by Dr Rajesh, Liaison Officer from Manipur, and Indian footballers Chinglensana Singh and Suresh Wangjam.
Their presence added to the spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness that "Fields of Hope" seeks to foster.
In a release, MMAB thanked RK Imo, Sagolband AC MLA, for his continued sponsorship, and Talin Company for supporting Northeast sporting talent.
Special appreciation was extended to Meiraba Pebam for sponsoring the Best Player, Best Goalkeeper and Fair Play awards in memory of his brother Late Maj Punsiba Pebam.
Badminton supporters Thokchom Romen and Binika Pangabam, parents of India U17 player Dylan P Thokchom, sponsored the winning badminton team.
MMAB also acknowledged Prof Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, MP, for his support since inception, and Sakra Hospital for medical aid.
"Fields of Hope" reaffirmed sport as a bridge for friendship and unity.
