Parthenium Awareness Week begins

Thoubal, August 16 2025: The Parthenium Awareness Week was kicked off at the campus of KVK Thoubal today.

The inauguration of the campaign organised by KVK, Thoubal was graced by Dr Zeshmarani Sarangthem, Head & Senior Scientist, KVK Thoubal, staff and officials of line departments.

At the event, Longjam Boris, SMS Plant Protection, KVK Thoubal spoke about the illnesses caused by Parthenium weed such as skin allergy, hay fever and asthma.

Meanwhile, Dr W Jiten Singh, farm manager, KVK Thoubal tackled the topic "Use of systemic herbicide for the management of Parthenium" accompanied with a demonstration.

Leaflets containing information about integrated management of Parthenium hysterophorus were handed over to 24 farmers.
