DAs host Independence Dap celebration

Imphal, August 16 2024: Joining the rest of the country, district administrations celebrated the 78th Independence Day in their respective districts on Thursday.

In TENGNOUPAL district, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated by the district administration with deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar as chief guest in the presence of SP Rahul Gupta, District Level Officers (DLOs) and other officials.

The chief guest hoisted the national flag with Rastriya Salute followed by march past parade comprising contingents of the district police, 3 Assam Rifles band party, 49th Battalion BSF (M & C XIII Bn BSF), Phalbung Youth Club cultural troupe, St Peter's School, Tengnoupal cultural troupe, Phunal Sambum, Maring War Dance troupe, etc.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to select employees of various departments of the district and sports materials distributed to relief camps set up at Loisi, Chahmol, Tengnoupal Government High School, Bongbal and Moreh Higher Secondary School, and to District Sports Association and St Peter's School.

Later, the DC flagged off a bike rally of District Police as part of Har Ghar Thanga Campaign.

SENAPATI: District administration celebrated the 78th Independence Day at Sanyi Dahrii Complex, Khabung Karong Thursday during which DC Mamoni Do ley hoisted the national flag and students of Greenwood School presented the national anthem.

The DC also inspected the parade contingents and took salute from 20 contingents led by Tungjoy PS OC B Lunthang Vaiphei.

Altogether 20 contingents comprising Manipur Police, Manipur VDF, CRPF, Assam Rifles Band Party, Maram, ASHA workers, Mt Everest College, 14 Manipur BN-NCC and students from different schools participated in the parade.

During the celebration, 158 commendation certificates were handed out to Police personnel, government officials and various organisations for their outstanding cooperation to the district administration.

The Independence Day issue of 'Manipur Today' magazine, published by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR,) was also distributed to the attendees.

At the venue, stalls were opened by the district administration for distribution of National Flags in continuation of HGT campaign and Health department for free health check-up and screening of diabetes & hypertension.

Independence Day was also celebrated across sub-divisional offices with SDOs/BDOs hoisting the national flag at their respective offices.

The celebration was also attended by SP Anupam, DFO Shanngam S, ADM Nimmi Azingwungshi Khamarang, ADC CEO Adahrii Maheo, DLOs and its staff, CSOs, NGOs, school teachers and students.

KANGPOKPI: Kangpokpi district administration celebrated the 78th Independence Day at Brigadier Thomas Ground on Thursday with DC Mahesh Chaudhari hoisting the na tional flag amid rendition of the national anthem in the background.

Later, the DC took salute of 24 marching contingents from Police, VDF, NCC and several government and private schools.

The parade was commanded by Kangpokpi DSP SL Kamkhohao Lhouvum.

The celebration was also attended by SP Manoj Prabhakar, ADM N Shokngam Baite, CEO SH-ADC James Doujapao Haokip, DLOs and staff, CSOs and school students.

As part of the celebration, the district administration distributed 25,000 national flags to various offices, households, medical centres, and police stations.

Later, certificates of appreciation were handed over to 72 government employees, followed by performances by cultural troupe from Lamhil Kuki Cultural Research Centre, Maohing Cultural Troupe, and Nepali Gorkha dance troupe.

CHURACHANDPUR: Churachandpur district celebrated the 78th Independence Day at Peace Ground, Tuibong on Thursday.

DC Dharun Kumar S hoisted the national flag and took salute as the chief guest from the parade contingents.

Churachandpur SDPO Thomas Haokip commanded the 25 march past contingents.

Other highlights of the programme include a mass pledge-taking ceremony against drug abuse under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), cultural items from different communities and bamboo dance from the Hmar Youth Association (HYA).

The chief guest also presented appreciation certificates to 107 government employees, government institutions and individuals/ NGOs in recognition of their outstanding and valuable services in public service.

Special certificates were also awarded to 10 schools which housed IDPs.

SP Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, DLOs, staff of different offices, awardees, ex-civil servants, ex-servicemen, office bearers of CSOs, philanthropic organisations, NGOs, parents and students attended the event.

PHERZAWL: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at Pherzawl district headquarters on Thursday, with DC Asish Das hoisting the national flag and taking salute from the parade contingents led by Thanlon SDPO Go Lamthang Hatzaw.

During the function, appreciation certificates were distributed to 21 outstanding government employees and two civilians.

Additionally, two CSOs and five village authorities were recognised for their efforts in eliminating poppy cultivation and making the district poppy-free.

Relief materials were also distributed to 44 households affected by the heavy hailstorm and educational kits to schools.

SP T Lalboy Haokip, ADC/ADM Zosanglur Joute, Additional SPs Lunzamung Tungnung and Sangboi Gangte, SDCs and several DLOs, village chiefs/chairmen and villagers also attended the function.

CHANDEL: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at the Chandel district headquarters on Thursday, with the main function held at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School ground, Japhou.

DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar, as the chief guest, hoisted the tricolour with Rastriya Salute and national anthem played by the band of 21AR, in the presence of administrative officers, government officials, village heads, students and general public.

The DC then took salute from the parade contingents led by 8th Bn Manipur Rifles subedar A Mothil.

Showcasing of march past by 23 contingents, distribution of meritorious awards to 82 persons from different departments as well as distribution of red blankets to village chiefs and band display by 21AR marked the celebration.

The celebration was attended by SP Shivanand Surve, 8th MR commandant S Somorjit, Chandel additional SPs, 8 MR deputy commandant, SDO, SDCs, CMO, high ranking officers and officials of BSF and AR, DLOs, village chiefs, public leaders and representatives of CSOs, teachers, students and locals.

Friendly football matches of four teams were also played in the afternoon session.

KAKCHING: Kakching district administration celebrated the 78th Independence Day on Thursday at the DC's Office Complex with DC Rohit Anand as the chief guest.

In all 13 parade contingents led by Kakching SDPO Akoijam Premjit Singh took part in the march past parade.

During the celebration, appreciation certificates were distributed to HSE-2024 topper (commerce) Aiena Naorem and other subject toppers, police, VDF, Fire Service and civil departments personnel/employees, followed by distribution of prizes to winners of a race for students jointly organised by the district administration and District Social Welfare Office on August 12 as part of Har Ghar Thanga and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaigns.

The celebration was also attended by SSP Thokchom Vikramjit, ADM Moiranthem Kappajit, BSF, top civil and police officers, staff, CSOs' representatives and students.

THOUBAL: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated in Thoubal district on Thursday, with the main function held at Mini Secretariat Complex.

DC A Subhash Singh hoisted the national flag and took salute from march past contingents led by SDPO Thing -baijam Kamaljit Singh.

The programme was attended by SP Rakesh Balwan, ADM B Lokeshor Sharma, SDOs, SDCs, DLOs, official and staff of DC office. NONEY: Noney district administration celebrated the Independence Day on Thursday amid tight security at the DC's Office Complex, Longmai.

DC Sharath Chandra Arroju hoisted the national flag with Rashtriya salute and national anthem.

The celebration was also attended by SP Namsadai Peter, ADC Stiff Khapudang, 19AR doctor Dr Joyshree, SDOs, SDCs, DLOs, other related officials, DC office staff, elders, students and locals.

Cultural dance and patriotic songs were performed by various artistes and troupes during the function.

The band party of 19 AR performed their musical pieces that mesmerised the audience.

Appreciation certificates were also distributed to selected government employees and individuals.

JIRIBAM: District administration, Jiribam celebrated the 78th Independence Day at Jiribam Higher Secondary School Playground on Thursday.

DC Krishna Kumar, as the chief guest, hoisted the tricolour, inspected the parade contingents and took salute from the marching contingents commanded by Jiribam SDPO T Inaobi Singh.

Altogether four contingents comprising 87th Bn CRPF, 7th Bn IRB, Jiribam district civil police and combined band of district police and Fire Service participated in the parade.

As part of the celebration, various cultural items were showcased by students of Jiri College.

Banners depicting the observance of national function were displayed along with highlighting of schemes of various departments.

Seedlings, CMHT cards, Manipur Old Age Pension, Chief Minister's Widow Pension under various government schemes were also distributed to select beneficiaries.

Appreciation certificates were also awarded to 90 public servants in recognition of their outstanding service rendered in the district which included parade commander SDPO Th Inaobi Singh, commanders of the participating contingents, and civil police, Jiribam head constable flag assistant Ch Basanta Meitei.

Special appreciation certificate was also awarded to All Jiribam Working Journalists' Union (AJWJU) in recognition of their selfless service with five ex- servicemen from the district also honoured by the district administration.

On the other hand as part of the 78th Independence Day, the tricolour was hoisted at the office of Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seba Kendra, Jiribam CD Block.

SSP M Pradip, 87th Bn CRPF CO, CO of 7th IRB, additional SP, ADC, DLOs and government officials and public participated in the celebration.

The Independence Day issue of 'Manipur Today' magazine, published by DIPR, was also distributed to the gathering.

BISHNUPUR: District administration, Bishnupur joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 78th Independence Day at Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur on Thursday.

DC Lourembam Bikram hoisted the national flag with the national anthem playing in the background and inspected the march past parade of 13 marching contingents commanded by DSP (CDO-I) Potshangbam Sanjoy Singh.

As part of the celebration, appreciation certificates were also distributed to 159 officials including DLOs.
