Voluntary blood donation / awareness programme held at Wangoo PHC

Imphal, December 15 2025: A one-day voluntary blood donation cum awareness programme was successfully held today at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Wangoo Laipham Chithek Leikai, with the aim of promoting voluntary blood donation and creating awareness on its importance.

The programme was jointly organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Bishnupur District Branch, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Kakching Branch, Wangoo Chingya Youth Club, BVP Bishnupur Shakha, NSS Cell Kumbi College, Chhayatap Foundation, 46 Assam Rifles, Department of Transfusion Medicine (RIMS), MACS, and NHM Manipur.

The event was attended by IRCS Bishnupur District Branch, chairperson Meinam Ibemhal, IRCS Kakching District branch chairman Dr M Rajkumar; secretary Ksh Dharamdas; 46 Assam Rifles F-Company Commander Major Shivam; Wangoo Laipham Chingya Awang Leikai Club president, Warepam Sanayai as presidium members.

IRCS Bishnupur, former chairman and Chhayatap Foundation International, Working President Dr Wahengbam Gulapi; IRCS Bishnupur secretary Dr Huidrom Romen; and Dept of Transfusion Medicine RIMS, Senior Resident Dr H Ranjana, served as resource persons and delivered detailed talks on the importance of voluntary blood donation and safe transfusion practices.

Altogether, 30 donors, including women and men, voluntarily donated blood during the programme.

The donors were later presented with certificates, as a mark of appreciation and encouragement for their noble contribution to society.
