Har Ghar Tiranga rallies, exhibitions held across four districts

Bishnupur/Kakching/Thoubal/Pherzawl, August 14 2026: Patriotic fervour gripped Bishnupur, Kakching, Thoubal and Pherzawl districts on Friday as district administrations, schools and various institutions organised rallies, exhibitions and creative activities under the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign ahead of the 80th Independence Day.

BISHNUPUR
In Bishnupur, the District Administration organised a Har Ghar Tiranga Rally from Block Lamkhai to the Mini Secretariat Complex, led by Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam.

district-level officers, officials from various departments, students from schools across the district and CRPF personnel participated in the rally, which witnessed enthusiastic participation and highlighted the spirit of patriotism and national unity.

Later, Partition Horrors Remembrance Day 2026 was observed at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex.

A two-minute silence was observed in solemn memory of those who lost their lives or were affected by the tragic events surrounding the Partition of India.

Meanwhile, schools under Zonal Education Zone-IV continued to conduct various activities under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Several schools organised Tiranga rallies led by teachers, with students participating enthusiastically and spreading the message of patriotism, unity and respect for the National Flag.

KAKCHING

In Kakching, the District Administration organised a cycle rally to promote patriotism, national unity and respect for the Tricolour.

Deputy Commissioner Angeline Renita R and Superintendent of Police Priyadarshini Laishram flagged off the rally in the presence of Additional District Magistrate Ph Bhavananda Sharma.

Students from various schools across the district took part in the rally, which started from the DC Office Complex, proceeded along NH-137A towards Kakching Lamkhai and returned to the starting point.

Various other Har Ghar Tiranga activities are also being organised daily at schools and institutions across the district A Tiranga Rangoli-making event was organised at the DC Office Complex by the District Administration in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), where children from Child Care Institutions showcased their creativity.

Tiranga-themed art and craft activities, rangoli-making, and poster-making and drawing competitions on freedom fighters were also organised at various schools.

THOUBAL

In Thoubal, the District Administration organised a poster-making competition and a Tricolour Evolution Exhibition at the Election Counting Hall of the DC Complex as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Deputy Commissioner Yumnam Robita said the exhibition was organised ahead of the 80th Independence Day to familiarise people with the evolution of the National Flag and highlight its importance and significance.

She appealed to the public to participate in the exhibition and understand the significance of the National Flag.

Students and teachers from various schools and district-level officers also attended the exhibition.

PHERZAWL

In Pherzawl, the district administration organised a Tiranga bike rally, adding momentum to Independence Day preparations.

Deputy Commissioner Anunay Anand flagged off the rally from the DC Office Complex in the presence of Superintendent of Police T Lalboi Haokip and Special AIG (Housing) Lunkhomang Khongsai.

Officers from various departments and other participants joined the rally, with around 60 bikers taking part.

Addressing the participants, DC Anand said the National Flag represents the hopes and aspirations of millions who fought for India's freedom and serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for the nation.

He urged citizens to hoist the Tricolour with due respect as a tribute to the freedom fighters and all those who made supreme sacrifices for the country.
