AMAMECON-2025 kicks off

The inaugural function of the 41 st All Manipur Medical Conference (AMAMECON) 2025 was held today at Indian Medical Association (IMA) hall, Lamphelpat.
The two-day conference is being held under the theme, "Vector Borne Diseases : Awareness to Action".
The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including Dr Th Dhabali Singh, Chairman cum MD, Babina Group; Dr Kh Ratankumar Singh, MD, Mother's Care Children Hospital and Research Centre; Dr Simpson Sareo, President, IMA Manipur State Branch; Dr Shyamkumar Laishram, Director, IMA CGP FACULTY, Manipur; Dr A Vivekananda Singh, CWC Member, IMA; Dr Chetan Maibam, Vice Chairman, Reception Committee; and Dr Soram Goutam, Hony State Secretary, IMA Manipur State Branch.
Speaking on the occasion.
Dr Simpson Sareo said that public awareness and community participation are absolutely crucial for preventing vector-borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis.
"Many vectors, such as mosquitoes, breed in stagnant water near human habitation.
Only with active community participation can these breeding grounds be effectively and consistently eliminated", he added.
As part of the event, Dr Palin Kh, recipient of IMA HQ Eminent Doctor Personality Award was also felicitated.
