Children's Day celebrated with zeal across Tengnoupal and Kakching

In a heart warming tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, fondly remembered as "Chacha Nehru," Children's Day was celebrated with spirited enthusiasm across Tengnoupal and Kakching districts on November 13, 2025 .
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the commemorative events, organised by Assam Rifles, brought together over 250 children from local schools, neighbouring communities and remote villages, creating a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration.
The festivities unfolded across multiple venues including Pallel and Moreh in Tengnoupal district and Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS) at Pallel Garrison in Kakching District.
The day commenced with engaging recreational activities that included games, dance and singing competitions, followed by a children's movie screening that added to the delight of the young participants.
Assam Rifles personnel, along with dedicated school teachers, worked in close coordination to ensure the events were both memorable and meaningful.
At ARPS Pallel, students showcased their talents through a lively talent hunt programme, reflecting the creative spirit and confidence nurtured within the school environment.
Simultaneously, at Moreh, children participated enthusiastically in sports and artistic competitions, demonstrating their energy and imagination.
The events concluded with a shared meal, reinforcing the values of unity, joy and collective celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles highlighted the importance of nurturing young minds and guiding them towards becoming responsible citizens.
His words encouraged children to remain disciplined, work diligently and contribute positively to society.
